The lighting industry is now moving away from creating LED lamp that simply replace mains GU10 lamps and are concentrating more on designing new products around the small and intense LED chip. These LED downlights are a fine example of this new thinking with a very broad spread of light (120º degrees) they move away from the tight beams and the resulting shadows encountered with halogen lamps. Having such a broad distribution means that less fitting are required in a space to provide even illumination.
This range of high output LED downlight use a circular array of SMD (surface mounted diodes) to provide a very broad spread of light with high colour rendering and a colour temperature of 4000ºk.
The design uses a LED array mounted on an aluminium panel with heat sink for superior temperature control. The light is diffused because the circuit board is encased in silicone giving diffused light and provide exceptional colour rendering.
In all models the constant current LED power supply is supplied and fitted to the LED downlight so only a mains supply is required.
Note: we do not suggest the use of this downlight in domestic living rooms or lounge areas. The very broad spread and intense light is likely to cause glare and discomfort after extended periods. It is of course well suited to domestic kitchens and thoroughfares and is perfect for commercial spaces and retail.
