Does the shaver socket work without the light switched on ?
Yes the shaver socket is live with the light on or off. |
Please can you tell me if the wiring entry point is in the centre, to the left or to the right at the back of the unit?
Also, please could you confirm that this wires directly to the mains?
The cable entry is 25mm off centre.
Yes being a bathroom fixture means this will require hard wiring to the mains. |
Do they make MIKO275 with right-hand shaver socket? Not exactly! However, the pull cord on this fitting is ideally situated at the end of the casing, thus allowing the product to be mounted 'upside down' for a right hand shaving socket. |
Could I route the mains cable in through back at one of the ends of this shaver light i.e. drill through the case for a more convenient entry point?
The casing on this fitting is ABS plastic - it could be easily drilled to provide a different cable entry. |
Does this have 1 or 2 lamps in it ?
Also with regard to regulations in the bathroom, if I wanted to centre this fitting on a wall above a mirror but have a mains supply say 20cm from the end of the fitting, is it legal to have fully shielded wiring coming out of a wall plate and running to the fitting ie wiring exposed ? Excuse the duff information - this fitting takes two E14 lamps (max 40w each)
Fully shielded cable is not required. Some would use small conduit, or mini trunking, some would use a heavier duty rubberised flex and fix this with cable clips. The choice is yours. |
Can this be mounted vertically? Yes. |
WHAT IS THE VOLTAGE OF THE SHAVER PLUG? CAN IT BE SWITCHED TO 110v? The voltage is fixed and can not be switched to 110v. |
