Basic Shaver Light - White

Not the most technically advanced shaver light - more of a continuation of good working practice.

Supplied with a 11w PL-S compact fluorescent lamp.

Removing the prismatic lens disconnects the supply to the lamp to reduce the chances of electrocution.

Unlike the new kids on the block this shaver light is switchable between 110v and 240v for the shaver and US shaver plugs will fit the shaver socket. Inside is a safety isolating transformer rated at 1 amp to protect you if you do something daft!

The shaver socket in this fitting will only operate when the light is switched on so if you wish to charge your toothbrush overnight with the light off we'd suggest you look at another model.

I've just replaced the bulb and still not working, does it have a fuse somewhere and if so where? Hi, the striplight lamp has a filament running from one end to the other. If you were to put one end into a live fitting while holding the other end you would electrocute yourself. To avoid this happening there is a micro switch within the fitting that disconnects the electrical supply if the diffuser is removed. I'm guessing that you have replaced the lamp but not yet replaced the diffuser.

The light will not switch off . I've removed the cover (diffuser) & can still use the shaver socket . How can I put it right - or do I have to buy a complete new unit ? Some questions can be answered via email... this isn't one of them. Please call us to discuss what is wrong.

When I unplug the razor or electric toothbrush from the unit, the unit is continuing to hum as if something is still plugged in. The light is working fine. Is this dangerous, and do you know how to solve this? (Turning the fuse box off for that room is the only way of stopping it currently) The shaver point is protected by a safety isolator which may be heard to buzz or hum during normal use. This noise or interference comes the the windings within the isolating transformer which are used to isolate the 1 amp supplied at the shaver socket from the higher current on the supply. If customers find the noise a nuisance they can re-route the supply from the terminal block to the switched side of the pull cord - hence the shaver socket will only operate when the lights are switched on. This work should be carried out by a qualified electrician. We do not endorse the removal of the safety isolator - it is there for your protection.

what length s15 does this take? I need one that uses 221mm This fitting requires a 60W S15 lamp which is 221mm in length.
