Colour Changing LED Strip Lights

This is the easiest LED strip product we know of - and there are plenty on the market!

Each 300mm long strip has 12 individual LED chips with a red, green and blue diode making it possible to provide any tone or shade of colour light required including white.

Each 300mm long strip has four pins on one end and a corresponding socket on the other. Making a long run simply means plugging up to eight strips together. For corners you can use the 50mm connection cable to break a straight run.

Installation is simple - push on the end power feed, remove the backing tape and stick to your surface.


Both power supplies come with a four port manifold allowing either 8 or 16 strips to be operated and controlled by one power supply.


The strip also has a self adhesive 3M backing for easy installation and is fully flexible.

When calculating your required number of strips remember that the last strip in a run may be shortened by 75, 150 or 225mm to suit your space but offcuts cannot be re-used.

Kit 1 contains a 15w power supply (for up to 8 LED strips), a hand held remote control, an input lead and one 300mm long strip.

Can you programme this light? Can it be used in a bathroom? These LED strips are programmable and offered with two types of controller - hand held remote control and an inline push button controller. The strip operates on DC low voltage so can be used in a bathroom in zones 1,2 and 3 that said you should endeavour to avoid splashing water as this will cause premature failure.

Could you tell me how many watts the power the strip is. Each 300mm long LED strip uses 1.8 watts

Can these be run from a 12v battery? I want to use them inside the cabin on a yacht. Yes you could omit using the power supply and connect these to your 12v DC supply. You will still have control of the light and colours with either the push button or infra red remote control.

Can one 300mm strip be cut into three 100mm strips and each can be used under three different kitchen units connected with the same supply? Strips may be shortened by 75, 150 or 225mm to suit your space but offcuts cannot be re-used.

I am looking for a light to go behind a wood burning stove which can stand up to the heat and ideally have different coloured bulbs available. Would this product be heat resistant enough for the job? LED lights don't like heat - it shortens their lamp life considerably so would not be an ideal solution.

I would like to use these strips in place of my under cupboard /worktop halogen lights. How does the light output compare to a 20w Halogen bulb? Also my current lighting is wired in to a Futronix dimmer switch can I connect these in the same way so that my Futronix switch can control the output? The light output of a long strip of these LEDs is comparable with 20w halogens at 600mm centres - but of course with all the funky colour-changing super duperness of LEDs. Your existing dimmer unit however will not dim the LED light output and this should be changed to switch mode only. Remember you can dim the LED light output with the remote control.

I have just had to return colour changing LEDs I had bought for under cabinet lighting, as when hardwired the spur would turn them off but not back on again. A button would need to be pressed. Is the case with your lights too. The electrician said set the system was resetting each time turned off. I see you have the option to hard wire with a remote. Would you still have to use the remote to turn back on as with the lights I returned? From testing we know that the push button and the remote does come back on the same colour/mode when switched off and switched back on.

Potentially a silly question, but do you simply plug the power supply into the mains? Or does it have to be hard wired? If you look at the image with the blue background you will see that the power supply simply has a two core flex. This would normally be wired into a fused spur but, if it is more convenient you could simply fit a 3 pin plug.
