Designed for the bright little CircleLine 32w round fluorescent T9 lamp - giving an average of 2000 lumens (about as bright as a 150w incandescent lamp).

These are lovely lights and seem very well made, but I think for £90 per unit it is extremely stingy that they don't include the fluorescent lamp! It's not as if there is a wide range of lamp types to choose from. The service from lightingstyles delivering my purchase was very good. John, 14 May 2010 22:25:52

What type of glass does this light fitting have? The glass is etched and sprayed giving the effect of being sandblasted opal.

What is the mechanism for taking the shade off (to change a bulb)? Is it a doddle or fiddly? We'd say doddle(ish). There are two screws at the top of the chrome band that unscrew to remove bezel and glass. The lamps should last around 10,000 hours so this should be an operation that is often needed.

Does this light flicker on switching on, or does it come on instantly? No flickering, and instant start because of the high frequency ballast. A marked difference from the old fluorescents eh?
