Punchy, Well Designed Light That's Energy Saving!

A really classy bathroom ceiling light that uses mirrored glass, duplex opal glass and a clear glass ring all suspended on polished chrome rods from a sturdy steel back box.

The ceiling plate is 260mm in diameter making it easy to cover up large holes in the ceiling.

The glass diameter is 380mm and the drop is 120mm.

This Part L compliant ceiling light uses energy efficient lamps running on silent high frequency flicker-free control gear.

This fitting packs a punch with each Philips Ecotone 18w lamp giving 1200 lumens - the equivalent of a 125w GLS lamp and the mirror plate will bounce light back down.

Fitting is supplied with 4000k Cool White lamps.

IP44 rated suitable for zones 2 & 3.

Looks brilliant when it is up. Really classy. Couple of comments, difficult to get the 4 pin bulb out once you have it in. You need two pairs of hands to put this light up, do not attempt this on your own. The hole for the power feed is not in the middle of the unit so don't have your cable central as you will need to move the fixings. Andy, 23 August 2009 10:27:34

I would like to replace my existing bayonet light with this light. Zones ok earthing ok but does this require supplementary bonding? This is a question for your installer. Most DIYers would not. But an electrician may suggest taking a new Earth lead right back to the consumer unit. Ask, then decide whether you want a double insulated ceiling light instead.

I am interested in fitting the above light in my shower room which is 1.8m x 1.8m. Would this give adequate levels of light? This is going to give you masses of light in a space of that size. You're talking here of light output in excess of 2 x 100W incandescent GLS light bulbs (the sort that are now being phased out), plus the mirrored backing is going to redirect wasted up-light downwards.

Dumb question but (for a 1.9m x 1.7m room) can this light be fitted with less powerful bulbs to give only 100W equivalent light? This is a Part L compliant fitting meaning that the ballast is built into the housing. The ballasts are matched to lamps so, in a nutshell, you cannot use a lower wattage lamp. We're very sorry.

Do i need to order bulbs with this item or do they come supplied? Lamps come supplied and should last in the region of 10,000-15,000 hours, although all lamps are excluded from warranty.
