PAR20 Reflector Lamp

We currently offer 3 types of PAR20 lamp - also called HiSpot 63 (replaces standard R63 reflector lamp)

 

Philips HalogenA PAR20 lamp

Comes in either flood (25º beam angle) or spot (10º beam angle) and is typically used for accent and display lighting.

ES-E27 Edison screw reflector lamp with Polished Aluminium Reflector and clear cover glass. Both version have a front glass designed to prevent glare and ensure an even beam spread (stippled on spot and faceted on flood)

For outdoor use, the lamp should be protected from direct water contact.

Philips MASTER PAR20 E Lamp

A simple switch energy saving product. Mains-voltage reflector lamp with ES base and built in transformer giving white halogen light. Combines the good efficacy and long lifetime of low-voltage halogen technology with the ease of use of PAR HalogenA and R63 lamps.

7 times more light compares with a R63 reflector lamp

Up to 66% more efficient than a 60w R63 and 60% more efficient than a 50w PAR20

Dimmable?

Only on good quality leading edge dimmers Standard dimmers are recommended for mains voltage lighting only. Leading edge phase cut dimmer Good quality leading edge dimmers can be used on wire-wound transformers and compatible electronic transformers. If audible noise is produced we suggest you change to good quality dimmer from Richmond Lighting. When selecting a dimmer add up the wattages of the bulbs (or transformers) you wish to dim and choose a dimmer with a suitable maximum load rating. Trailing edge transistor dimmer For use with dimmable electronic transformers (that are compatible with trailing edge technology). These dimmers are not suitable for wire-wound transformers. When selecting a dimmer add up the wattages of the bulbs (or transformers) you wish to dim and choose a dimmer with a suitable maximum load rating.

So is the 20w Master worth buying - it is 3 times more costly? Use the 20w Master PAR20 instead of a standard 60w R63 spotlight and you'll save 66% on running costs. Use the 20w Master PAR20 instead of a standard 50w PAR20 and you'll save 60% on running costs. It also gives a longer lamp life of 5000 hours instead of 2000 hours (PAR20) and 1000 hours (R63). notwithstanding the above the quality of the light beats R63 and standard PAR lamps hands down. It's your choice.
