G9 halogen capsule lamp - frosted

These are frosted mains halogen G9 lamps. EU legislation has banned the production of these frosted lamps and promotes the use of 'Energy Saver' halogen lamps with clear glass.


The halogen lamp can operate its filament at a higher temperature than in a standard vacuum or inert-gas filled lamp, without loss of operating life.


This gives it a slightly higher efficiency (10-20%) than standard incandescent lamps.


It gives a bright warm white light that is considered by many to be the nearest to daylight from any lamp.

Install a dimmer module, this removes or reduces the inrush current that shocks the filament when the lamps are switched on. Lastly do not install mains halogen lamps in areas that are subject to vibration i.e. in a ceiling under a teenagers bedroom!
