The market has recently seen a relative flood of LED lamps, each claiming to be the best one available. In some cases this might be true, but prices often mean that they are not viable retrofit lamp.
We have now tested a few of these lamps and have found the branded ones from Crompton to be our preferred choice for regular applications. If you want perfection use the Philips lamps listed elsewhere on this site.
This lamps beam angle of 38º and lux levels of 180-220 lux make it a genuine alternative to halogen lamps, and the long life (15 times that of a halogen) make it a cost effective solution when combined with the potential energy saving.
Please note these lamps are not suitable for use with a dimmer.
